Exec /Snr Exec, Life Insurance Underwriter

Your main responsibilities is to underwrite life insurance risk in accordance to the concurred authority; ensure meeting personal KPI and work as a team to meet departments and company’s vision.

You'll be responsible for:

Underwrite and counter sign life insurance risks up to the concurred authority. Work with immediate superiors and other managers to ensure personal KPI and departments KPI are met, this includes: Daily personal productivity is met Work with other team members to ensure overall department turnaround time are met To follow quality underwriting practice which includes prudent, competitive and consistent underwriting decision, follow the set guidelines (internal and reinsurer manuals); adhere to legal and compliance requirements, company and regional underwriting policy. Initiate and foster good working relationship with the Sales Team and agents. Support initiative and project that are initiated from Group to ensure that we are align with Group and company direction. Any other duties as and when deemed necessary.

Important to your success:

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) At least 2 years of working experience in underwriting for life insurance or related field. Team player, good interpersonal and communications skills Ability to leverage AI tools like ChatGPT for automating routine tasks and enhancing productivity.

Senior Executive (MAT) - Marine , Aviation & Transportation- Underwritting

Full time & Permanent role WFO

• Primary responsibility is to manage new & existing book of renewable business through a demonstration of the following skills and abilities:

• Fundamentals of coverage, terms and conditions. Ability to offer coverage, terms and conditions which generate a profit for the Company while meeting the needs of the customer.
• Risk Assessment. Ability to identify risk exposures, special or common hazards, and appropriate controls. Ability to select risk based on exposure and risk analysis. Ability to analyse claims and quantify losses.
• Financial proficiency. Understanding of insurance financial fundamentals and their impact on underwriting decisions.
• Actuarial fundamentals. Ability to understand loss trends and ratemaking. Ability to quantify risk based on experience history and forecasting methods.
• Marketing and communications. Ability to sell and negotiate to achieve bottom line profitability for the Company. Ability to base communications on strategic thinking. Ability to manage producer strategy.
• Systems and programs. Ability to use systems and software programs needed to conduct daily business.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Within established business plans and assigned authority, select, analyse, and underwrite individual risks utilizing corporate pricing and reinsurance techniques to obtain desired results
• Negotiate facultative reinsurance on accounts where needed
• Manage a renewable book of business offering strategic underwriting guidance including rate/terms/deductibles
• Monitor results of the overall book of business assigned and recommend corrective action as necessary to insure retention of desirable accounts
• Provide quality and timely input on assigned projects to meet the Company’s needs in the changing market and to support profitable growth
• Participate in audits and/or underwriting meetings as required

Trainee Commercial Insurance Broker / Account Handlers – Bristol City centre

Our client is a major commercial insurance brokerage with offices in Bristol City Centre. They have a fantastic training programme which allows insurance professionals from all backgrounds the opportunity to pursue a career within commercial broking.

Ideally applicants will have some commercial insurance experience, either broking, underwriting or claims, however, we are more than happy to hear from individuals from varying insurance backgrounds, perhaps you’re a personal lines broker or underwriter or wanting to move away from an insurance call centre. All we ask is that you have a desire to learn, to work hard, have a positive mind set and are keen to join a quality “team oriented” business.

In this role you will be dealing with smaller commercial clients, mainly SME with annual premium spends up to £10k. You will provide new business quotations, make amendments to existing policies and be involved in marketing renewals. This role requires a very professional approach and great attention to detail.

Previous us of Acturis system would be beneficial bit is not essential (system training will be provided).
