As a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be part of a supportive engineering team responsible for improving and sustaining manufacturing operations. You will work across departments, gaining exposure to:

Manufacturing Process Management - Assist in managing production line layouts, material flow, equipment validation, lean initiatives, and process efficiency improvements.

Compliance & Standards - Ensure activities align with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), regulatory requirements, and company standards for Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting - Collaborate with experienced engineers and vendors to resolve technical issues and support technicians during troubleshooting.

Process Documentation & Improvement - Help create and update standard operating procedures, including Assembly Instructions and PFMEA documents.

New Product Introduction (NPI) - Partner with the NPI team by contributing feedback during new process development and supporting a smooth transition to mass production.

Innovation & Excellence - Participate in Business Excellence initiatives and support new technology development and implementation.

You’ll collaborate closely with teams across Safety, Quality, Facilities, and Production to ensure engineering solutions align with operational needs.

  • Responsible for the Plant Industrial Parameters and Improvement Projects.

  • Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Managerial skill.

  • Possess initiative and drive, to take ownership in getting things done.
  • Has work in a matrix-type organization.

+ Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
+ 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing environment, Business Process Engineering, Quality Management or a similar role.
+ Strong knowledge of quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001), process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), and project management.
+ Experience in process design, mapping, and optimization using software tools (e.g., Visio, BPM tools).
+ Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with IT tools such as ERP systems, data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and automation platforms.
+ Excellent problem-solving, investigation andd decision-making skills.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide projects and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Additional Requirements:
+ Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
+ Experience with digital transformation projects or IT systems implementation.
+ Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.

Your Impact

As a consultant in our two-year Operations Excellence Program (OEP), you will work on client engagements in the same way as any other McKinsey consultant. You will play an active role in problem solving for clients including identifying issues, forming hypotheses, designing, and conducting analyses, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations. You will gain leading edge operations and consultancy skills, primarily through on-the-job coaching, which will be complemented by the OEP’s structured capability-building program.

We view the OEP position as the start of a rewarding, challenging and highly flexible career with McKinsey and the Operations practice. During your first few years with the firm, you will serve as a consultant on multiple client engagements and work with a number of colleagues and clients in a range of industry and operations service lines. You will acquire the necessary knowledge and expertise to help companies achieve excellence in their operations.

Along with other members of the OEP community, you will dedicate many days to functional training and knowledge development under the leadership of our operations experts. You will follow a curriculum based on operations excellence themes and will receive advanced training in one of six specific areas of operations: manufacturing, product development, purchasing, service operations, supply chain management, or capital excellence.

Upon completion of the program, successful consultants will join our global group of leading experts in operational excellence.

You’ll be based in one of our Southeast Asia offices as part of the Operations Practice, which blends strategic thinking with hands-on practicality to help clients achieve operational excellence.

Your Qualifications and Skills
  • University degree with a technical or business specialization, with excellent academic performance
  • 2+ years of professional experience in an area of operations (capital productivity, manufacturing, product development, purchasing, service operations, or supply chain management)
  • Strong energy and mining & metals background preferred
  • Data analytics, automation and optimization experience preferred
  • A solid knowledge, based on practical experience, of all areas of Lean Manufacturing, e.g., the Toyota Production System, kaizen methods, TPM, JIT, SMED
  • Passionate about operational excellence
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytics
