3D Animator Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Work Type:Full Time

Our client is an independent games development studio founded 2008 in the cultural heart of Southeast Asia. They are a game tech focused studio with both internal OIP (Original Intellectual Property) and external co-development tracks. They build games over multiple platforms, primarily focused on Windows Desktop PC (Unreal Engine). Their flagship and breakout is a fully serviced live operational squad based multiplayer PvP (Player-Versus-Player) 5v5 (Five-Versus-Five) FPS (First-Person-Shooter) and RTS (Real-Time-Strategy) hybrid action combat game launched in 2021.

Our client provides full cycle work for hire, co-development, consulting, backend development, and virtual production support disciplines across all departments both internally and externally. Today, they are a team of 60 full-time internal developers and growing. They are committed to be wholly involved in developing digital interactive entertainment software and remain passionately strong. Combined with a people first, through innovation and integrity, they are poised to be the leading force in games development within the region.

The Responsibilities:

Our client is on the lookout for great full-time talents in 3D Animation, both technical and traditional, to join their growing development team. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with their talented team in producing consistently believable, platform optimized, and stylistically accurate effects in their many internal and external projects.

  • Work alongside their teams and project stakeholders in delivering high-quality 3D animation across varying types of actors (characters, creatures, objects, and environments, etc.) for in-game gameplay use that amplify, and are in-lined with the project’s visual direction, technical specifications, and calendar milestone demands.
  • Develop visually invoking, believable, and easily readable animation gestures and interactions through strong understanding of movement, form, and dynamics, with innovative utilization of production and in-engine software tools, for both real-time gameplay and cinematic use, while maintaining built optimization and efficiency, within technical boundaries.
  • Produce technical solutions that supplement traditional hand-key, and or motion capture animation data processing workflows in crafting fluid, realistic, and or stylized animations to life in-game.
  • Team & Personal Responsibilities
    • Good interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with various disciplines and stakeholders across different project and approval stages.
    • Experienced or keen to learn and improve new pipeline and production practices through iterative development methodologies, be it traditional or agile workflows.
    • Constantly familiarizing and keeping updated with current industry standards, trends, pipelines, and software to effectively and consistently hit higher graphical benchmarks.
The Requirements:
  • Core Requirements
    • Experience with Unreal Engine 4, and or 5 (and above).
    • Experience in 3D Animation Software (Autodesk Maya, MotionBuilder, Blender, etc.).
    • Experience in Version Control Software (SVN, Git, Perforce, etc.).
    • Experience in Traditional 3D Animation Pipeline (Blocking, Spline, Polish, etc.).
    • Experience in Motion Capture 3D Animation Pipeline (Performance, Cleanup, etc.).
    • Experience in Traditional, and or Agile work environments and methodologies.
    • Proficiency in Human and Creature Anatomy, Body Mechanics and Principles of Movement.
    • Good observational skills and keen attention to detail in replicating real-world references.
    • Ability to understand complex multi-state changing assets rig(s).
    • Ability to self assess, profile, improve, and optimize in-game 3D animation assets.
    • Knowledgeable in a typical game development cycle.
    • Is Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
  • Supplementary Skills
    • Experience in Cloth, Hair, and or Fur Simulation.
    • Experience in Animated Shader and Material Sequencing.
    • Experience in 3D Animation Pre-Production (Ideating, Planning, 3D Animatics, etc.).
  • Experience in 2D Animation Software (Esoteric Spine, Adobe After Effects, etc.).
  • Experience in Rigging for In-Game Animation (Traditional, Skeletal Mesh, Lyra, etc.).
    • Bipedal, Quadrupedal or more, Serpent, aquatic anamniotic, etc.
  • Experience in Character Facial Setup (Traditional, Blend Shapes, MetaHuman, etc.).
  • Experience in Animation Technical Art Development (Pipeline, Dev Tools, Integration, etc.).
  • Experience in optimizing for various hardware and platforms (PC, Console, Mobile, etc.).
The Rank Requirements:
  • Junior / Fresh Graduate 3D Animator
    • Possesses a good understanding of animation and the mechanics of motion. Sufficient portfolio in creating in-game 3D animation assets through industry standard software(s) and game engine(s). Previous work to showcase stylistic consistency and imaginative use of geometry, animation, and or shader manipulation to create visually appealing game ready animation assets.
  • Intermediate 3D Animator
    • Solid experience and demonstrated ability in 3D animation development, consistent delivery of animation assets that meet project requirements, both technically and stylistically. Decent knowledge in 3D animation ideation, spatial planning, and large-scale multi-character interactive cinematic scenes. Have at least been credited with one game title launch, with preferably a minimum of three to four years of industry experience.
  • Senior 3D Animator
    • Excellent knowledge and demonstrated consistency in developing visually stunning 3D animation assets across multiple, and various project stylistic, and technical requirements. Ability to document, improve, and mentor newer 3D animators. Is Proficient in multiple core skills with a few peripheral and supplementary skill sets. Decent knowledge in a typical game development cycle and environment, interpersonal and planning skills. Have at least been credited with two or more game title launches, with preferably a minimum of five to six years of industry experience.
  • Exceptional proficiencies in 3D animation development, consistent demonstration of developing visually immaculate 3D animation throughout various high profile projects. to rapidly prototype and storyboard complex animation ideas, benchmark and document processes, while maintaining standard of delivery. Excellent working knowledge in Unreal Engine, and other supplementary 2D/3D tools. Have at least been credited with three or more game title launches, with preferably a minimum of eight to ten years of industry experience.
  • Lead 3D Animator
    • Excellent background in 3D animation development with interpersonal, communication, and project management skills. Ability to fully understand project requirements, and work closely with all disciplines in maintaining timely delivery of 3D animation asset deliverables to their respective stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in delegating and maintaining project 3D animation standards, while adapting, and iterating across a variety of artistic styles. Wide knowledge of technical constraints, optimization and implementation to determine the best tools and techniques in hitting project visual targets. Have at least been credited with two or more game title launches, with preferably a minimum of five to six years of industry experience.

    Engineer - Building Information Modeling

    Job Summary Provide technical support for building and data center construction projects by developing 3D BIM models and simulating complex building systems across disciplines such as Architecture, Civil & Structure, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and enhance 3D models for coordination, shop drawings, and combined services drawings (CSD).

    Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative BIM solutions.

    Perform design and constructability studies for various disciplines before construction begins.

    Review and ensure consultant designs meet project scope, specifications, and schedule.

    Issue RFIs, design options/changes, and address modeling issues with consultants.

    Work with senior design engineers to propose design solutions based on engineering principles.

    Collaborate with Site Operations & Production teams on design, construction, and fabrication processes.

    Lead and guide draftspersons/3D modelers assigned to projects.

    Participate in technical, operational, and BIM discussions to resolve project issues.

    Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety & Health, and Environment standards.

    Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Civil & Structural Engineering, Building Technology, or equivalent.

    Skills & Abilities

    Proficiency in 3D modeling tools such as Autodesk Revit is an advantage.

    Experience with other 3D modeling software like SketchUp, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor is considered.

    Personal qualities include being hardworking, eager to learn, adaptable, honest, a team player, and passionate about new technologies.

    Experience

    1-2 years of experience in 3D modeling or working on building construction sites.

    • You will serve as an Analyst working closely with project teams on multiple client engagements and proposals in a range of industries in Southeast Asia. You will have a chance to experiencevarious activities within the merger and acquisition life cycle, with a focus on value advisory, financial modelling and decision support for transactions.

This includes writing proposals, executing engagements, engaging clients, performing analyses of the business, building financial models, performing valuations, drafting reports and communicating with all levels of stakeholders. Writing of proposals typically involves conducting research, understanding the relevant market and industry and identifying information required for the subject asset. Executing of engagements normally involves understanding the client’s merger and acquisition requirements, particularly from a valuation perspective, which will require a good understanding of the target asset’s industry and its financial statements, for evaluating the target asset. Building financial models and performing valuations usually involves identifying information required for the application of the selected valuation methodologies, conducting research, gathering and analysing relevant information, benchmarking and assessing the reasonableness of the assumptions adopted, and contributing to presentations and report materials. Communication with all levels of the stakeholders includes communicating effectively to all levels of engagement management and participating actively in meetings with clients and/or stakeholders for projects.
