The Marketing Planning Manager is responsible for driving comprehensive marketing planning across the Bank’s various business lines. This includes coordinating the quarterly marketing plan, defining key focus areas for each quarter, and developing the annual business plan for the division. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to consolidate and align marketing initiatives across Consumer, Business, and Islamic Banking LOBs, ensuring strategic coherence and avoiding duplication. This role reports to the Head of Marketing Planning.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Functional (job responsibilities)
- Collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to coordinate the consolidated quarterly and monthly marketing calendars and align marketing initiatives across Consumer, Business, and Islamic Banking LOBs.
- Coordinates campaign post-mortem analysis and management reporting for key campaigns.
- Coordinates the Marketing CXO Council as required to align on focus areas and marketing spend for every quarter.
- Identifies and actively keeps updated on industry trends and innovations, as well as competitor initiatives and campaigns; proposes new ideas and concepts for marketing and consumer propositions to pilot or conduct Proof of Concepts for, and collaborates with identified Cross Functional Teams for implementation and handover of successful implementations for operationalization.
- Collaborates with Cross Functional Teams across the organization to roll out the Service Standards to customer-facing and support functions, and leads sustenance initiatives required to ensure high adoption in creating a customer-centric service culture.
Managerial (team/group responsibilities)
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and smooth operation of various initiatives and projects
- Assume formal or informal leadership role to influence decision through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to stakeholders and business leaders
- Responsible for effectiveness of implemented initiatives & POCs. Expected to propose and report on key measurement metrics to assess effectiveness
- Responsible for quality, timeline and achievement of initiatives. Expected to prepare periodic progress reports of initiatives assessing milestones, deliverables, impediments and KPIs
- Responsible for compliance to Service Standards SOPs. Expected to work with stakeholders to conduct periodic audits, mystery shopper and/or other research activities to ensure compliance
Organizational (organizational responsibilities)
- Ownership of the bank’s Service Standards framework which encompasses guidelines for service delivery for customer-facing and support functions i.e. branches, contact centre, social care, customer advocacy, relationship managers and other functions as required.
Jobholder Requirement
Education/Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree holder or post-graduate diploma, professional degree in business, marketing or other relevant fields
- 8 years & above years in marketing and planning is a plus
- Experience in leading team and cross-functional teams is a plus
Experience
- Solid knowledge of Brand and Marketing, Planning, Business Management and Service Culture
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in ideation and implementation of new ideas and concepts for marketing and consumer propositions
- Possess leadership ability and able to self-motivate and lead cross-groups collaboration and secure the co-operation and involvement of key internal and external stakeholders
- Highly experienced in building and growing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners with creative thinking, problem solving and have strong bias for action
- Sound project management knowledge and skills with strong ability to drive continuous improvement via iterative improvements and/or strategic POCs of new ideas and concepts
Special Skills
- Up to date with brand, customer-centric service culture, market trends and sound ability in market research
- Demonstrable negotiation, influencing, networking, presentation and diplomacy skills, with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Sound Project Planning and Management skills; sound Budget Planning and Management skills
- Adept at multitasking, confident and comfortable to manage multiple projects concurrently while keeping to expectations on timeline and quality
- Working proficiency of MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite of Products

The Planning Director leads a unit of media professionals in the conception and delivery of innovative, well-targeted business building marketing solutions across a variety of media to meet or exceed clients’ objectives. This involves the creation and execution of media plans, unearthing insights, integrating capabilities and flawless execution on all fronts. This person is the primary point of contact for clients and will oversee the day-to-day communications planning and/or buying processes for the assigned accounts. This role reports directly to the Business Lead leading an Account.
ResponsibilitiesFunctional Competencies
- Client Management
- Establish a partner-relationship with clients by being involved in the business environment.
- Provide business solutions through media approaches for assigned brands.
- Overall account stewardship to ensure communication strategy and implementation are in sync towards clients' business direction.
- Undertake key initiatives/business solutions in tandem with clients' goals, business objectives and priorities.
- Manage clients' requests appropriately (e.g. push back on unreasonable timelines, make judgment or evaluate value on ad hoc requests).
- Take ownership for assigned brands.
- Maintain regular WIPs, dialogues and reviews to ensure effective work processes.
- Improve and uphold agency evaluation.
- Create and deliver digital media solutions blending strategy, innovations & insights with creative excellence to achieve a brand’s marketing objective.
Business Partner Management
- Leverage good relationships with senior business partners (e.g. creative, media owners), hence the ability to obtain updated information that contributes to the brand objectives and value-add to clients.
- Conduct professional briefings to business partners on innovations and ensure alignment to clients' objectives.
- Establish partnership processes with business partners (e.g. rules of engagement).
- Establish rapport and understanding with senior business partners and ensure clear documentation on all communications.
- Ensure best value from all negotiations across media owners and campaigns.
- Manage and resolve conflicts for Level I & II (Executives and Managers).
Research & Media Applications Proficiency
- Guide and troubleshoot for Level II on applications usage.
- Display competency in using advanced functions in each tool.
- Able to tap into proprietary consumer insight applications or alternative sources for more in-depth analysis.
- Proficient in using agency's planning approach.
Financial
- Identify opportunities for organic growth of the business.
- Uphold financial policy and integrity to avoid violation or potential fraud.
- Assist the team members to reconcile all media payment variances of assigned brands.
- Work with team members to ensure accurate and timely invoicing (e.g. regular review of unbilled reports, resolve unbilled cases with Finance).
- Resolve all ageing matters.
- Accurate business forecast of assigned accounts (monthly and annually).
Industry Knowledge (Consumer, Business or Brand Insights)
- Exhibit good understanding and forecast on media/ industry/brand development & implications to the businesses.
- Evaluate the strategic implications of media/ industry/brand developments and identify opportunities & threats to businesses (short to long term).
Investment Management
- Optimize the given investment or allocate appropriate investments by medium/brands.
- Provide investment consultation to client on appropriate budget to meet the desired objectives.
- Supervise on cost management for brand across medium used.
- Master contract management (e.g. propose, negotiate, track fulfillment, etc.)
- Input on action plans in expenditure reports.
- Reconcile all sources of costing/investment variances.
Corporate Responsibility
- Lead/participate in pitches.
- Drive awards submission.
- Demonstrate appropriate behaviors to uphold the company's image, reputation and credentials.
- Identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with function/practice leads on best practice development.
- Demonstrate responsible hiring of talents (e.g. fair employment practice) and ability to manage termination well with due diligence.
- Mentor and ensure all direct reports master the skills and organizational savvy required for advancement.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.

- Create a relationship with the set of brands/clients assigned to you. Become the go to person for all their client servicing problems.
