We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for our hybrid working model.
**Cool things you'll do**
MongoDB is on a mission to change the way people think about databases. Along the way, our customers encounter questions and issues about how our approach to databases works for their use case. In Technical Services, it's our job to help these people.
You'll be working alongside our largest customers, solving their complex issues - resolving questions on architecture, performance, recovery, security, and everything in between. You'll be an expert resource on standard methodologies in running MongoDB at scale, whatever that scale may be. You'll be an advocate for customers' needs - working with our product management and development teams on their behalf. And you'll contribute to internal projects, including software development of support tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics. In addition, you will also be responsible for mentoring and ramping new team members and taking initiatives in building knowledge of new product lines within the MongoDB ecosystem.

It's important for candidates to check off these boxes:
+ Fluent in one or more of the following languages: Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin or Thai both written and spoken, in addition to English
+ Systems engineering experience, including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting
+ Should have a good understanding of Networking concepts and protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, etc.)
+ Storage engineering experience, including NAS, SAN, SSD, multi-pathing, and caching
+ Experience building and maintaining complex mission-critical production database systems
+ Be able to read code, and basic coding/scripting ability in one or more languages: Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, Javascript, node.js, Go, etc
+ Broad awareness of customer workloads and use cases, including performance, availability, and scalability
+ Experience analyzing issues holistically, from the application tier through the database, down to the storage
+ Genuine desire to help people
+ Ability to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure, and solve problems in real-time
+ Desire and ability to rapidly learn a wide variety of new technical skills
+ Collaboration: willingness and ability to get help from team members when required, and the good judgment to know when to seek help
**Bonus Points**
+ Experience managing large-scale databases (e.g. RDBMS, NoSQL)
+ Experience with authentication systems such as LDAP, Kerberos, AD
+ Experience using or managing MongoDB
+ Experience using distributed version control systems, and in particular git
+ Experience using any cloud services stack such as AWS, Azure or GCP
+ Experience with Kubernetes or other orchestration systems using vendor-specific Enterprise operators
**Weekend and Holiday Work**
Due to the 24/7 nature of our support organization, certain events throughout the year will require participation for coverage outside one's normal work days or work hours (i.e. regional offsites, regional holidays, etc). These are typically announced weeks in advance with a sign-up system that considers equitability.
**Success Measures**
+ In 3 months, you'll have gained a deep understanding of MongoDB and its ecosystem. You will complete New Hire Training
+ In 6 months, you will be comfortable working frontline with our customers. You will also complete the MongoDB Certified DBA Associate exam
+ In 12 months, you will be a technical specialist within MongoDB and will be helping your peer engineers in advance diagnostics. Also, you will be encouraged to handle technical escalations independently

MongoDB Pre-Sales Solution Architects are responsible for guiding our customers and users to design and build reliable, scalable systems using our data platform. Our team is made up of seasoned technical sales professionals, software architects, entrepreneurs, and developers who take direct responsibility for customer success, including the design of their software, deployment, and operations. **As an ideal candidate, you will have:**
+ 8 to 11 years of related industry experience, ideally 3 years of experience in a customer facing role
+ Minimum of 3 years experience with modern scripting languages (e.g. Python, Node.js, SQL) and/or popular programming languages (e.g. C/C++, Java, C#) in a professional capacity

Individuals in the Relationship Account Manager (RAM) role have a passion for technology that delivers business outcomes and understand how to retain and grow clients through a focus on their success. In this role you will act as the primary point of contact for your customer base and leverage the MongoDB ecosystem to help drive expansion and retention of a customer portfolio. As a Relationship Account Manager you will be responsible for success, education, enablement, upsell/cross-sell, renewal and everything in between.
We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and available to work in a hybrid working model. This would be the first Relationship Account Management team hire in Malaysia and is NOT a remote role.
**Our ideal candidate will have**
+ 5+ years of work experience, of which at least 3+ years of quota-carrying experience in Sales or Account Management, or similar customer-centric role with direct revenue responsibility
+ Mandarin/Bahasa Language Proficiency is strongly preferred
+ A proven track record of hitting sales targets; this role will be responsible for expansion/upsell AND renewal/retention
+ The ability to execute on activity and pipeline expectations and published standards of excellence
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to a diverse audience, both internally and externally
+ A background and passion for driving value and growth with customers via virtual meetings - this takes the form of enablement sessions, strategy meetings, business reviews, and more in this role
+ Demonstrated ability to articulate the value of a complex enterprise technology
+ A mind for technology - we'll teach you about MongoDB and databases, but our customers and product are inherently technical and you should have an aptitude and curiosity to learn about those concepts
+ The ability to work in a fast paced environment
+ The acumen for leveraging tools and data sets to gain insight into your clients use of MongoDB
+ An entrepreneurial mindset - this is a new team so you must thrive in a changeable, often ambiguous environment and enjoy contributing to building process, enablement and best practices
+ High levels of organization and attention to detail - you take ownership of customer situations and see everything through to resolution
+ Team player and passion for collaboration - this role will work with customers that require alignment across the broader Go to Market ecosystem including; Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Tech Services, Deal Strategy, Legal etc
+ Prior exposure to database, cloud and infrastructure technology is a plus
**On a given day in this role you will**
+ Work as a strategic advisor to the customer - aligning not only to their MongoDB initiatives, but also their internal processes, bottlenecks, and overall corporate strategy
+ Proactively identify, qualify and nurture relationships within your accounts to expand stakeholder footprint and elevate MDB as a strategic partner
+ Negotiate renewals and growth opportunities, execute MongoDB sales process to both protect and expand MongoDBs renewal base
+ Execute on territory management & activity expectations, including ongoing tiering/prioritization of accounts, strategic account planning, and risk/deal reviews
+ Own and deliver an accurate forecast of your business week over week; quarter over quarter
+ Leverage data signals and proactive outreach to identify and address potential risk within your portfolio
+ Partner closely with MongoDB executives, product managers, and leadership to achieve positive customer outcomes

**The Opportunity:**
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven leader with exceptional energy, passion, and initiative to oversee a team of Sales Development Managers for MongoDB, the world's fastest-growing database.As the Manager of Sales Development, this role will emphasize developing top-tier talent, driving team performance, and advancing sales pipeline goals to support MongoDB's continued momentum. Qualified candidates will be based in our Kuala Lumpur office and are open to a flexible, hybrid work schedule that includes regular in-office collaboration.
**Day to Day**
+ Attract, hire, retain, and develop talent
+ Provide strong coaching and mentoring through a deep understanding of sales, our business model, and our sales methodology.
+ Be involved in prospect qualification and discovery calls/meetings
+ Provide weekly team performance summary as well as timely and accurate forecast to senior management based
+ Cross functional collaboration to establish scalable processes for incoming lead management and follow-up SLAs and conversions
+ Develop and own KPI's, supervise the activity of the team, track the results and drive team execution based on those metrics
+ Work closely with Field Sales and Inside Sales management to drive increased performance and align pipeline production to our Sales team's needs
+ Invest in your self-development, focusing on the skills and attributes that will make you successful in your core role and get you set for future success
**What You Will Bring to the Table**
+ 2+ years experience prospecting as an individual contributor and closing
+ 2+ years experience leading/managing with a track record in hiring, developing and promoting is a plus
+ Complex enterprise software experience in a comparable company (technical and multi- level decision making)
+ Experience in open source software sales is a distinct advantage
+ Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills. You must be credible with direct reports, customers, recruitment candidates, and internally across the organization at all levels including senior management
+ Top performer, Results oriented, with a track record of overachievement (President's Club, Rep of the Year, etc.)
+ Experience using and implementing a sales methodology (MEDDICC, SPIN, Challenger.)
