Job Description: Exciting opportunity to join a busy small-animal RCVS Nurse Training practice based in Dorchester, supporting the town and the surrounding area in Dorset.
This really is a superb location and a relocation package is available to the right candidate. So there's no barrier to taking up this great opportunity and making the most of life in Dorset which boasts one of the UK's sunniest and warmest climates. Dorchester is the gateway to the Jurassic Coast which offers Blue Flag beaches, dramatic scenery, rich heritage and a historic harbour as well as some 'Outstanding' schools. All this is still under two and a half hours from London, with good road networks and direct rail links.
The practice is purpose built with some great facilities including operating theatre, 2 dedicated consult rooms, a nurse consult room/x-ray room, as well as all the kit you'd expect from a solid GP practice including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab equipment, full multi-parameter monitoring equipment and other essentials. They are also happy to discuss investing in additional equipment in the future, depending on your areas of interest.
You will be working alongside the Practice Owner/Clinical lead who has a keen interest in exotics and currently completing a AVP Certificate in Zoological Medicine as well as four strong, experienced and forward thinking nurses and three incredible receptionists.
The ideal candidate will be a vet with great communication skills and confident with routine neutering, procedures and emergency and critical care. You'll need to be confident with periods of sole charge through the week and as part of a balanced weekend rota but there are no out of hours and you will be provided as much flexibility with working hours as possible to find the work-life balance that suits you.
Included in the package on offer:
Salary of £40,000 to £65,000 FTE, commensurate with experience
5.6 weeks annual leave as standard (pro-rata for part-time).
RCVS and VDS memberships are paid as well as the opportunity to have one other membership paid.
