Job Description
  • Ensure that risk management, control, and governance systems are functioning effectively to support the organization's objectives and goals.
  • Establish the department's structure for hiring, developing, and retaining staff, ensuring the internal audit function holds a prominent position with the necessary authority, resources, and expertise.
  • Propose and execute the organization's annual audit plan, identifying activities for assessment, evaluating their importance, and determining risk levels.
  • Independently report internal audit findings, along with management's responses, to the Board Audit and Risk Committee (BARIC) to enhance companies' internal controls and coverage.
  • Discuss with management the results and recommendations of internal audit reports, and follow up on the status of management action plans.
  • Evaluate the progress of audit assignments against the annual plan, ensuring that obtained audit evidence is sufficient, relevant, and reliable for reporting to management and making recommendations for control improvements.
  • Review management's actions regarding deficient control conditions, ensuring appropriate corrective measures are acknowledged and continuously reviewing action plans until resolution.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive audit activities and coverage to assess management controls across all group's operations.
  • Monitor IA's performance in achieving its objectives, aiming to enhance the department's ability to serve the organization effectively.
  • Conduct special audits or reviews as needed by BARIC or management, including reviewing major findings and corresponding management responses.
  • Undertake any additional assignments as instructed by the company.
The Successful Applicant
  • Hold a suitable degree or equivalent professional qualification in accountancy, internal audit, or a related field.
  • Possess official membership with the Malaysian Institute of Internal Auditors.
  • Demonstrate a track record of fifteen (15) years of experience, including a minimum of seven (7) years in a leadership role, preferably within the technology hub, property, project management, or manufacturing sectors.
