Road Transport (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Ground Command Operations Manager to lead our ground command center operations. The Ground Command Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the ground command center, ensuring efficient coordination of ground transportation resources and providing support for operational teams.
Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Lead and manage the ground command center team, including dispatchers, coordinators, and support staff, to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
Communication Hub: Serve as the central communication hub for ground transportation activities, liaising with drivers, operational teams, customers, and external stakeholders to coordinate activities and address issues.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for ground transportation operations, such as on-time performance, response times, and customer satisfaction, and implement measures to improve performance.
Technology Utilization: Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), GPS tracking software, and other technology tools to optimize operations, improve efficiency, and enhance communication.
Training and Development: Provide training, guidance, and support to ground command center staff to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in ground command center operations, implementing best practices and recommending technology solutions as appropriate.
Customer Service: Collaborate with customers and operational teams to understand their needs and requirements, proactively address issues, and deliver high-quality service.
Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ground transportation operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a command center environment.
Education: Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate, coach, and inspire a team to achieve goals and objectives.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically, make sound decisions, and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), GPS tracking software, and other relevant technology tools.
Customer Focus: Customer-centric mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and building strong customer relationships.
Flexibility: Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed, to support 24/7 operations.
