General Manager - Johor

Direct and lead the overall branch business in the area of Business Development, Marketing, Freight Forwarding, Warehouse Logistics. The primary focus will be to drive high profitability business, while managing compliance to standard operating procedures and directing an aggressive operating plan, mentoring, motivating, managing and leading staff while optimizing costs and increasing revenue as well as representing the company in the marketplace by visiting new and existing customers.

• Strategize sales & marketing, business development, operations, projects and to direct the activities to ensure achievement of respective sales targets and business plans. Enhancing the reputation and relationship of the company with key customers and accounts in order to further the branch's business interests.
• Manage and motivate the operations, projects and other personnel in order to synergize their efforts to the achievement of the branch's targets / goals.
• Formulate sector-level business plans and yearly budgets.
• Drives the designing of marketing/sales/ operations/projects strategies/programs within Johor Branch.
• Cascades objectives, plans and targets formulated by the Managing Director and the Executive Director each departmental level of the branch.
• Manages / monitors efforts of all departments to achieve synergies and ensure achievement of the operations targets, sales targets and business plans.
• Translates business plans into action plans with appropriately allocated resources required for achievement of the plan-objectives. Ensures the cost of operations is kept within the sanctioned expenditure budgets for the branch.
• Builds and maintains harmonious relationships with key accounts, institutional customers, and accounts.
• Drives the development and implementation of marketing and innovative service offerings strategies by studying and analyzing data on customers, target groups, and competitor activity using integrated analytical functions.
• Ensures bid management process is carried out efficiently and effectively with accurate cost estimates to improve the number of bids won and safeguard the profitability of large-scale / project-oriented consignment movements.
• Ensures projects are executed efficiently and delivery is made on time with minimum claims and accidents.
• Ensures proper warehouse management and control and provide inventory visibility to client.
• Ensures proper asset management of warehouse equipment and facility and improve the utilization, productivity, reduce downtime and reduce maintenance cost.
• Ensures proper tracking of the maintenance of assets (preventive and breakdown) are done to reduce repair costs / minimize vehicular downtime.
• Monitors SLAs and KPIs and perform pulse checks against targets.
• Maintains good relationship with the key suppliers and negotiates terms of contract for the purchase and hire of new equipment. Also ensures that a track of supplier performance is maintained.
• Ensures that all purchases and contracts are conducted at competitive levels.
• Sets out specific performance standards in such key areas as business development, operations, project management and yard management; evaluates performance against these standards; coaches and assists the department managers in improving their performance.

Requirement -
1. 8 to 10 years' middle to senior managerial experience in Business Development / Sales / Customer Service / Operations Management / Leadership position within Logistics / 3PL industry.
2. High Degree of confidence, initiative and commitment to running an office.
3. P&L, Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting.
4. Proven management skills with the capacity to lead and motivate staff through collaborative skills.
5. Highly developed communication and presentation skills.6. Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
