Job position: APAC Process Specialist – MDM/R2R

Reporting to: Head of APAC Accounting Process Performance

This position is a crucial part of our company's global finance SSC transformation program. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the maintenance of master data used in Company Group SAP entities. The Specialist will focus on specific data objects within the R2R process across all countries within the regional MDM Tower scope. Operating within a regional matrix organization, the Specialist ensures data accuracy at entry points and addresses any data quality issues to drive continuous improvement. Moreover, this role supports the end-to-end R2R process by ensuring quality and effectiveness. This involves validating data, entering data accurately, maintaining data quality, and conducting reporting and analysis in line with established data standards and procedures. The Specialist also ensures that all necessary master data is available, accurate, and compliant. Providing regular and timely reporting supports improved performance, compliance, and cost reduction initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute changes to master data in the system of record (e.g., SAP), ensuring the creation and upkeep of finance-related R2R data objects, attributes, and hierarchies (such as GL Management, Asset Management, Intercompany Accounting), in accordance with company's core module specifications.
  • Ensure that all required data is present, accurate, and compliant, adhering to the data standards established by the Global Finance Master Data Management central team.
  • Verify that the information provided in change requests is thorough and accurate for each type of object, complying with Global Master Data Management processes and related SOP.
  • Utilize the knowledge, tools, templates, and forums provided by the Finance Master Data central team to execute Master Data Management (MDM) tasks to a high standard.
  • Document applicable policies, processes, and procedures comprehensively and ensure their consistent application throughout the master data management lifecycle.
  • Maintain process documentation for master data objects, share processes and technical knowledge, and promote best practices among team members locally and globally.
  • Ensure adherence to guidelines, procedural enhancements, and escalation protocols for executing master data management activities.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for related data objects, standards, policies, and processes.
  • Provide services with a clear focus on customer satisfaction, meeting quality and productivity targets, and contributing to the achievement of master data performance and quality standards within defined SLAs.
  • Proactively engage with all functional areas of the company's entities to ensure effective master data management activities.
  • Challenge existing practices and make data-driven recommendations to drive continuous improvement.
  • Raise issues regarding data (both process and technical) and conduct assessments of data impact to maintain data quality standards.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve any technical issues affecting master data integrity and processes.
  • Perform backup duties and other tasks, including rotating to other functional teams as required, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon company's control procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Mandarin speaking will be an advantage
  • 2- 4 years of relevant experience with good functional exposure to R2R processes from a finance master data management perspective
  • O2C experience is a plus
  • Master data concept knowledge and master data application set up.
  • SAP knowledge: experience with SAP ECC and Business Warehouse. Familiarization with SAP Master Data Governance, CAR process and accounting regulations
  • Conceptual thinking and ability to align specific functional requirements with the overall MDM strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national organization
  • Previous experience working in projects to drive performance improvements Soft skills
  • Willingness to travel
